Upgrading tools without overspending

I’m planning the next round of equipment purchases for our workshop and trying to be a bit smarter with the budget this time. We already have the basics, so now I’m looking for tools that will actually speed up diagnostics rather than just sit on a shelf. I’ve been going through the equipment at https://ecutools.eu/ and there are quite a few options for diagnostics, electrical work and ECU-related jobs. For those who have upgraded their workshop gradually, which type of equipment gave you the biggest improvement in everyday work? I’d rather buy two genuinely useful tools than five devices we’ll rarely touch.

For us, electrical diagnostic equipment probably made the biggest difference. Once you can properly test circuits and signals instead of relying only on fault codes, a lot of difficult jobs become much quicker. I’d look at the problems that currently take you the most time and buy equipment specifically for those first.
