Hey everyone,

I am working on a small DIY robot project but I am a bit stuck when it comes to picking the right motor. The robot is going to be around 2-3 kg in weight & I want it to move at a decent speed while being able to handle a few small obstacles. I was initially thinking of using DC motors with encoders for better control but I am not sure about the torque and RPM I should go for.

I have looked into stepper motors as well but I am worried they might not be the best choice for smooth movement. Brushless motors seem interesting but I do not know if they are overkill for a beginner project like mine.

What type of motor would you suggest for a project like this? any advice on motor drivers that would work well?

Also i have check this https://www.roboternetz.de/community/threads/76554-ZeroBug-Hexapod-Robotertableau-tutorial (https://www.igmguru.com/blog/tableau-tutorial) Any guidance would be appreciated.

Thank you.......... 😊
